Today, we created healthy sandwiches using pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and low fat meats like turkey, low-fat ham, and chicken. The students loved making a tally chart of which toppings they preferred and calculating the fraction needed to serve everyone. It was a fun, hands-on way to see fractions in real life.
